why do we watch these dramas?

because we want to belong. We want to fit into the group of spectators that watch this show. We want an escape from our lives. We watch the overly dramatic things because they make our lives seem not as bad. But i can't help but think of how awful this is.

How we live in such an era where we need this. We are in the top 15% of the population and I can't stand it! There are so many people who are poor, dying, starving, the list goes on.

It makes me sad...

One Response so far.

People who are poor and starving may in fact have it better than we do. It seems that people are going to have about the same number of problems regardless, and if none present themselves, people manufacture fake problems. It's one of the few areas where I envy poor people: If you have a real problem, you can really solve it (If your problem is not having food for the day, you can be fed, problem solved). If you have a manufactured problem... like melancholy in a life full of luxury over the meaning of life... um, it can't be solved, not even for a little bit.
